Your account and the beta

Your account handles login, beta membership, and communication. Screenplay content is never part of it; your writing stays in your files and your browser.

The dashboard

Sign in and open the dashboard (also linked from the writing surface). It shows your name, email, membership status, and whether writer access is enabled, and it is where you manage everything below.

Change your password

On the dashboard, under Security:

1. Enter your current password.

2. Enter and confirm a new one of at least 10 characters. The strength meter updates as you type, and Generate password offers a strong one (save it in your password manager before submitting).

3. Press Update Password.

For your protection, changing your password signs out your other sessions.

If you are locked out entirely, email beta@intextwriter.com from your account address and we will sort it out.

Email preferences

Two switches on the dashboard, under Email:

  • Beta updates: invites, release notes, and important changes while the beta is running.
  • Product news: occasional INT.EXT announcements beyond required account emails.

Press Save Email Preferences after changing them. Account-critical emails (like password and invite mail) are always delivered.

Send an issue note

The Send an Issue Note form on the dashboard is the direct line to the maker. Pick a type (Bug, Confusing moment, Formatting or page count, Import or export, Feature request, or General note), give it a short title, and describe what happened. For bugs, the Expected and Actual boxes are the fastest way to make a report actionable: what you thought would happen, and what INT.EXT did instead.

Two things make a note great:

  • Steps: what you did just before, in order, for example imported an FDX, pressed Tab in a parenthetical, and the picker did not open.
  • No screenplay pages: please describe the issue rather than pasting your writing. Your pages are yours; we do not want them in a ticket system.

What's new

Release notes and beta updates are published on the Updates page. If you are subscribed to beta updates, the important ones also reach your inbox.

Logging out

Use Logout in the dashboard's top bar.
